Selkirk is a faux cable sweater knit that captures the timeless look of a classic cabled sweater—without a single stitch of hand knitting. Created using jacquard knitting techniques, the cable texture is knit directly into the fabric, giving it beautiful dimension and a refined, sweater-like feel.
This fabric is exceptionally soft, with a plush hand reminiscent of cashmere and a relaxed drape that feels cozy yet elevated. The cable pattern runs horizontally from selvedge to selvedge, but with equal stretch in both directions, Selkirk can be cut with the cables running in your preferred direction.
At 300gsm, Selkirk is substantial without being bulky. With approximately 20% stretch in both directions, it’s well-suited for garments that prioritize comfort, structure, and everyday wearability over high recovery.
Selkirk is fully opaque and comfortable for next-to-skin wear. Use it to create cozy cardigans and sweaters, or perhaps for sweater dresses and elevated loungewear!
